Online Services by EMIS Access Now Available Through Patient Access

Welcome to Patient Access. Patient Access lets you use the on-line services of your local practice. These may include arranging appointments, repeat medication, secure messages, medical record and updating your details.

First of all you must register to use the Patient Access system and also get your user ID. Ask the receptionist, for a registration form, which provides the information you need to register. You now need to enter a ‘User ID’ every time you sign in too. To get your User ID, visit and click on ‘get my User ID’ in the yellow box.

What Can I Use Patient Access For:

  • Booking Appointments – Once the registration process is complete, you can log on to the appointments systems to view appointments you have already made, cancel them if necessary, and book a new appointment with your doctor after checking the times available whatever time of the day and it will send you immediate confirmation of the booking. You will be automatically be added to the appointment list, so there is no need to re-confirm by e-mail or telephone – just arrive promptly on the day!
  • Repeat Prescriptions – Sometimes getting to the surgery to request a repeat prescription is not practical, so we have an online service you may use to request a repeat prescription of a drug which has been set up by your doctor for repeat prescribing. Please note, drugs which have not been set up for repeat, which were given for a single episode of illness, or which need review cannot be supplied in this way. Remember, we need 2 working days to process your request. Prescriptions can be collected from reception (unless you submit a stamped-addressed envelope that can be used to return it to you). If you do not wish to use EMIS Access via the Internet please write to us or drop in and use one of the repeat prescription request forms available at reception instead. Please note only medicines that are currently on your repeat prescription form can be ordered using the EMIS online ordering system.
  • Change Personal Details – Its really important to us that we know how to contact you for a whole range of reasons – from simply changing an appointment to notifying you of an important test result. So please keep us informed if you move, or change your name or phone number.
  • Foreign Travel Immunisations – To request an appointment to have your travel medicine requirements reviewed and receive any necessary vaccines, please complete the on-line form as completely as possible. Please allow a few days for the practice nurse to review your requirements then contact the surgery to arrange an appointment.
