St James Health Centre with its century old history is the oldest Surgery in Liverpool
City Centre. Our NHS GP Practice aims to provide the highest quality of medical care
possible to the Liverpool community. Our NHS health care services are provided by
four GPs, Dr Takeshwar Prasad, Dr Robina Ghosh, Dr Simon Kan and Dr Nigel Chatwin.
NHS GP appointments are provided in various languages to help the diversity of our
local community in Liverpool City Centre. The Doctors speak fluent English, French,
Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Bengali and Urdu. 中文 (Chinese website translation).
St James Health Centre is situated in Liverpool’s famous China-Town accessed via
Duke Street and Great George Street, and can easily be reached by car or public
transport. This practice is within the Liverpool District Primary Care Trust area.

Registering as an NHS patient is simple. Call into the surgery during opening hours
with proof of residence and our friendly reception staff will help you complete a
registration form. Once you are registered as a patient you will be offered an
appointment with the Practice Nurse for a general health check. You can then start
using our services such as GP appointments and specialist health clinics including:
Travel Heath Clinic, General Clinic, Diabetes Clinic, Asthma Clinic, Epilepsy Clinic,
Baby Clinic & Children's Immunisations and Health Screening
St James Health Centre operates a 'Patient Choose and Book' for hospital referrals
and we also offer NHS patients a range of private health care services including:
Travel Clinic, LGV/PCV/Taxi and other driving medicals, insurance medicals,
occupational medicine services and personal letters. Please note that these services
attract a fee agreed by the British Medical Association.
